"It was another display of our desire in this competition, we will go for it until the end"

Sergi Gómez spoke to official media to analyse Sevilla FC's win against Escobedo: "We knew it would be a tough match, a potential banana skin. The team showed an ambitious side, one that let us bring success". The centre-half did not hesitate to speak about the side's adaptation to the playing surface: "We all came from playing on surfaces like that. It's not an excuse for us nor them. The team got down to work and competed until the end. We knew they would be a tough side to play against, you have everything to lose in difficult games like this. I think the team were very committed and very ready. We have achieved a good win".

The defender spoke about how seriously the side are taking every cup match: ""It was another display of our desire in this competition, we will go for it until the end". He also spoke about cup upsets: "I don't think they surprise anyone. It happens in every cup competition every season, you have to be focused".
