Reguilón battling for the ball against Real Betis
First team

"We have a lot of confidence in ourselves and in the manager"

Sergio Reguilón spoke to the media after the win over Real Betis in El Gran Derbi: "Right now I'm exhausted, but it's worth it. I'm over the moon, so happy and enjoying it like a little kid". The left-back said he knew that the Gran Derbi "is a special game. Besides the three points, it means more for the club and for us. It's special".

Reguilón said that the team knew how to suffer in the match: "We showed character. Of course, they scored their goal just before half-time and therefore to come out like we did after the break, with that character and desire to get a second goal and go for the win, says a lot about our club. It's what we work for day after day. We have a lot of confidence in ourselves and in the manager. When we each work together, these are the sorts of things that can happen".

The team go into the international break in a good position in every competition: "That's the objective, to be as high up the table as possible. We are working in such a way to continue improving and moving up the table. Let's hope that this work continues, and then the results will take care of themselves. Right now I'm delighted, and you have to enjoy it".

Finally, Reguilón wanted to thank the fans: "The support was incredible and we all felt it. They give us that extra bit of motivation that, although some people might not think it, means a lot to us and we think a lot of them. This win is for them".
