Quique Sánchez Flores was delighted after picking up another three points with victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday. "We were up against a very good team, a team that plays in the Champions League, and like Marcelino said, they are up there with the best in every department. We knew that they would be a little tired coming into the game; they have had a busy schedule and have just been knocked out of the cup after a long, exhausting match, but they are still a very good side. Putting in a good performance is always important to unite the fans in supporting us. We started the game very well, going 2-0 up, but then we took our foot off the accelerator. But as we started improving again, they got the penalty and the feelings at half time were very different as a result. We came out second half on the front foot again and restored the two-goal cushion. Despite conceding a late goal to make it 3-2, we are very happy with the performance; we created plenty of chances."

When asked whether this is the type of football he wants to see, he responded by saying "this is not what I want, this is the Sevilla that the fans want to see. A team that creates chances, that wins, that gives their all, and when possible, plays good football. The team has always fought well over the years." He then praised Kike Salas, stating that "he's an amazing athlete. We have plenty of youngsters with great attitudes coming through. Every game they show solidity and consistency; they're brilliant. If you say something to them, they are always eager to take your advice on board. They're a real credit to the club."

Finally, our head coach talked about our new strike partnership. "They have very similar styles of play. They're good runners, they create space and gamble on the second ball. They're starting to link up well and play exciting football, but there is always room to improve."
