On Thursday night, Sevilla FC beat Dudelange by three goals to nil, in what was the third matchday in Group A of the UEFA Europa League. The Sevillistas, who didn't manage to open the scoring until the second half, now sit on top of the table with nine points; leaving them five ahead of Qarabag in second place, and six ahead of Dudelange in third. The victory, as well as bringing them one step closer to the knockout stages of the competition, brought up another series of stats and figures that show the good work of the Nervión side.

Up until yesterday, only five teams had a 100% record in the UEFA Europa League: Arsenal, Getafe, Ludogorets, PSV and Sevilla FC. However, now after the third matchday has finished, only Julen Lopetegui's Sevilla, and Unai Emery's Arsenal can claim to still have a perfect record in the group phases. Getafe fell to defeat against FC Basel, Ludogorets were defeated by Espanyol and PSV could only draw at home to LASK.

Sevilla FC haven't faced a shot on target in over 180 minutes of European football, after facing only one in the opening group stage match in Baku

Sevilla were only a few minutes away from being the only team with the 100% record, as Arsenal just about managed to overcome a 2-1 defecit to win 3-2 in the dying minutes of their game against Vitória SC at the Emirates Stadium. The start that Sevilla have made this year is the best they've ever made in the history of the competition. They also equalled the best start made by a Spanish side in the UEL - that made by Atlético de Madrid in the 2012/13 season.

In addition, Sevilla, along with Manchester United, also hold another impressive statistic so far. The two teams mentioned are the only ones who have not conceded a goal in the competition yet. In fact, Sevilla have only conceded one shot on goal, which was against Qarabag in Baku; and therefore have went more than 180 minutes without having to contend with a shot on goal in European football. Moreover, Sevilla are the team who have had the most shots (64), with 24 of those being on target, in this year's edition of the UEFA Europa League.

It's safe to say that Sevilla FC have made a strong start to their Europa League campaign. In Matchday 4, when Sevilla will travel to Luxembourg to face Dudelange, the boys from Nervión will be looking to secure their passage to the knockout stages of the competition, possibly already as group winners.
