Sergio Reguilón spoke for the first time as a Sevillista having secured a loan move from Real Madrid this afternoon. He started by praising the Club, who he said "are at a top European level. When I had the option to come here I didn't even think, I'm so excited to start with my teammates. I'm confronting this challenge with a lot of enthusiasm and I'm wanting to kick-off and get to know the rest of the team".
"I like a lot of things about Sevilla FC, but above all else, the fans - some of the best in Spain. I'm excited to get to know them and give everything for this shirt. When I met with my agent and we put all the options on the table, the second Sevilla FC came up my head didn't need to hear any more", he said.
Reguilón links up with Julen Lopetegui once again, a coach he played under at Madrid: "I know the boss very well. It's true he called me, but he didn't need to either because I was already convinced I wanted to come here - though that does give you even more confidence. He asked me to contribute what he knows I can - work, happiness, and to do what I was doing with him before, which was compete and train well. It's the ideal Club to continue developing. I'm an intense player, tough in defence and I like to join the attack... I want to do all of that here".
"On Sevilla, I think about every time I've come here. Seeing those fans, that anthem that gives you goosebumps... the Europa Leagues won, which is not easy to do. That's why I'm really looking forward to getting started and to giving everything on the field. I want to experience those fans in first person".
