Guido Pizarro was the star of A Balón Parado this Thursday evening. The Argentinian player stressed the importance of Sevilla's two upcoming home games: "We really want to come back home, we want to play in front of our crowd. I'm hoping that on Saturday we will play well and come away with a victory because the game this Saturday and the game against Spartak are key if we are to continue making progress with our objectives".

It has made us stronger

Pizarro acknowledged that the unity in the changing room plays in the team's favour: "The group acts as a unit, it's normal for people to look for someone to blame, but that's not what we do. We know that the only option for us it to be united and move forward. Perhaps following on from these disappointing results, and after listening to negative criticisms, we will become stronger. We are stronger and more together than ever... We will give it our all". .

The Sevilla player touched on the importance of the fans' support: "The backing of our fanbase is the best of the best. The players come and go but the support of the fans is what remains. I hope that our performance on Saturday will allow us all - together with the fans - to move forwards".

Furthermore, the Argentinian sent out a message of calmness and confidence: "They were bad results and it was a bad performance, but in the run-up to the matches we knew we weren't in the best shape, but now we've come on leaps and bounds. We aren't satisfied with the previous bad results, but with a lot of hard work and dedication, we will get something positive".

Likewise, Pizarro pointed to other key factors for success: "Berizzo works with us individually, identifying specific aspects of our play which we need to improve. I am certain that if each of us improves our individual play, there will be positive effects for the team as a whole. "

He also discussed the most recent result in Cartagena: "The team is pleased with this promising start in a new competition, however, we can't get too ahead of ourselves when we secure a victory whilst equally we must do our best to not be too dramatic if the result isn't to our liking. We have to have the right balance".

There were many surprises in store for Pizarro in the form of relatives, ex-teammates from Lanús and coaches. Pizarro could not hold back the tears on hearing the messages from his brother, mother and coach from a more disadvantaged Argentinian background. Finally, after discussing the future trajectory of the player, Pizarro looked back on his arrival at Sevilla: "I knew that I was coming into an extremely competitive team, it wouldn't be easy and I was prepared for the challenge I was about to face. It surprised me that, coming into a team with so many big names, they would welcome me as they have done- with open arms. It is always the team that is the priority, not the individuals".
