Sevilla FC began their journey to Liege this Wednesday morning for their match against Standard on Thursday night in the fifth match day of the UEFA Europe League match day. Sevilla are quite familiar with the city of Liege, with this being their third trip to the charming Belgian city. Their previous trips came in 2014/15 which ended in a nil-nil draw, and in 2008/09 where Sevilla fell by one goal to nil.

Pablo Machín's men will be backed by more than 700 Sevillistas, once more following the Nervionenses to wherever they go. They have proven this, beyond going to finals, by their trips to places like the Portuguese Estoril or the Europa League semi-finals in Valencia with Mbia's legendary goal or to Gelsenkirchen to face Schalke, with the tiny German town being invaded by the white and red of Sevilla FC.

This will be Sevilla FC's 85th European trip so far this 21st century. With the 100th in sight, Liege sits in second place, with two other cities, of the most visited cities. Turin and Moscow, where Sevilla have played three different opponents (Lokomotiv, Spartak and CSKA), are the other cities that have welcomed Sevilla three times. Saint Petersburg sits in first place, with Sevilla travelling there on four occasions.
