The General Sporting Director of Sevilla FC, Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, Monchi, also appeared alongside Ivan Rakitic as he was officially unveiled as a Sevillista. He began by highlighting that he wanted "to thank the Chairman, the two Vice Chairmen, and the board in general for the confidence they have placed in bringing this operation forward, it was not easy. Here I have tried to be a link and a very high percentage of this is thanks to the the club, for giving me confidence, and IvanThe player has agreed to very different economic conditions and has tried to convince Barcelona to leave as he has left. It's been a difficult negotiation, which took a while, with moments of more and less light, but with everyone's will it has come to a good end".

Cuerpo Inferior

"This club has always grown with two fundamental columns or pillars, demands and humility. We will not lose either of those two pillars, we won't sell situations that aren't real. It's clear that we want to continue growingWe will achieve itI also think thatTime will tell. We have achieved things that no one imagined and what lies ahead remains to be seen. We will spare no effort to improve last season's squad, but the steps must be taken one at a time to avoid falling. We cannot lose our two great virtues", continued Monchi, as he spoke about planning for the 2020/21 season.

"This year, the badge has brought us all together. The road was very complicated, we will remember Cologne"

The General Sporting Director also spoke about last season and its successes: "I don't remember how proud I was years ago, this year has been very complicated and difficult. This year, the badge has brought us all togetherWe will remember Cologne nowbut the road was very complicated and there were new steps, far from what you study when you are preparing to be a sporting director. I don't know if this is the year I am proudest, but of the group, yes, from the Chairman to the last club employee".

The return of the loanees and Reguilón and Bono

"Pozo and Carlos Fernández have been called up to begin training with the team. What isn't news, isn't news. They have finished their loan spells and will come back here like the rest of their teammates. On the other hand, we're advancing a lot with Girona for Bono. It's a different negotiation to the option to buy that we had. We're hoping it'll be all sorted, we're optimistic. Also, Sergio Reguilón will always be an option for SevillaHe has performed really well and knows how we function without needing to adapt. Many teams value his signing, but Sevilla has not forgotten him".

"We always work by thinking that at any time we may need to cover something, and we work with that"

Diego Carlos and Sevilla FC's future interests

"All I know about any interest for Diego Carlos, there is no onethere is no offer that we've receivedIf everything goes normally he will begin training with the rest of his teammates and thinking about the Supercopa, a very important date. There's no one on the table. About Marcos Acuña, I don't know how close his because I don't know where the player is. Marcos Acuña is a player that sporting management has tracked for many years, but he isn't the only alternative, nor is he on my mind. We're trying to strengthen that position and we are working, but it is neither the only option nor is something imminent. We have various names on the table and we don't want to rush. We will do things once we are convinced on both an economic level and on a sporting level".

"We now have three strikers, and even Munir, who can play there. I hope we'll have all positions well covered. We always work by thinking that at any time we may need to cover something, and we work with that, but at the moment we aren't looking at the need to bring anyone in there", he stated.

"I say this from my heart, I hope that everything remains united so that we can continue to aspire to experience nights like Eindhoven, Glasgow, Basel, Turin, Monaco..."

Monchi also wanted to speak about the EGM that has been called, and highlighted the current unity between everyone: "I'll repeat what I said at the last meeting, the one in 2019. I believe 100% in the Sevillista families who. for the last 20 years, have known how to bring Sevilla to where we are today, nothing would have been possible without that. I say this from my heart, I hope that everything remains united so that we can continue to aspire to experience nights like Eindhoven, Glasgow, Basel, Turin, Monaco... and the best night since I became a Sevillista, the night in Cologne. With this breeding ground, the manager, the fans and employees, although it may not seem so, the best is yet to come".
