Carlos Marchena and Paco Gallardo, assistants of Sevilla FC's Sporting Team led by Joaquín Caparrós, were invited on Tuesday night onto SFC TV's programme, A Balón Parado, hosted by Roberto Arrocha. Both of them started by acknowledging how much work their job entails but that it was an incredible feeling to be able to work for the club they love.

Paco Gallardo acknowledged that 'there are so many people who are familiar with the players. Now, with social media, you can find information about whoever you want, for example a centre-back, and you get a ton of calls and messages recommending the player to you.' Marchena commented that, on transfer deadline day, he received more than one hundred phone calls.

'Nowadays, with social media, you can find information about any footballer and everyone gives you their opinion'

Carlos Marchena, asked about the best and worst of his job, responded 'the best is definitely being at the club you've loved all your life. The worst would be if I failed all the people who have put so much trust in me. The people who love Sevilla and make sacrifices by renewing their season ticket year after year.'

There were two phases up until now: first, when Caparrós called us to raise the idea of coaching, that it was time to lend Sevilla a hand. Joaquín did so in the four matches and from there on the meetings started to form the Sporting Team that we now have,' Marchena and Gallardo commented.'

'We cannot fail the many people who put in such an effort every year to renew their season ticket'

Regarding their planning, Gallardo said that 'we made a team where any decision has to be approved by all members. We've had difficult moments, without a doubt, because we had players who could have been at the World Cup and we also had to prepare for the early start with the Europa League. That we have the responsibility to make our fans happy who invest so much effort into the Club makes us aware of the importance of our work.'

Both of them finished with an anecdote regarding the signing of Vaclik, who is showing himself to be a great asset to the Club: 'Marchena sent me a photo one day of Vaclik in a stand reading a book. We asked for information regarding the player and we began to negotiate. Now that he's in Sevilla we realise the great player he is and the interest he has. After only a few days he was greeting you in Spanish and you could see he was adapting quickly.'
