LOPETEGUI: "WE NEED TO KEEP GOING OUT THERE WITH THE SAME COMPETITIVE SPIRIT"

"If we had played more calmly we would have had better chances"

Julen Lopetegui spoke to official media about Sevilla's win at the José Zorrilla: "It was an intense match, they had not lost here all season. They are a very well-structured side. It's been a difficult match where we had to compete. We played well at times, but not so well at other times. In the end we had space. They didn't really have clear chances, the clear chances came from us".

The manager highlighted Valladolid's unbeaten home record: "We knew about it, they're a well-prepped side with very good players for their system". Sevilla now have the best away record in the league this season: "The league is very even, so every match is a battle. We have to keep preparing ourselves, knowing that we have to keep improving on things, keep our run going. We need to keep going out there with the same competitive spirit".

"Valladolid are a good side, they will always demand 100% off you". Lopetegui was unhappy with some moments where the team lacked a level head: "Sometimes we hurried too much. If we had played more calmly we would have had better chances. In the end we have done enough".

Finally, he spoke about Jesús Navas' injury late on: "They're looking at him now. We'll wait and see what happens, it gave us a fright".
