Another game, and another three points for Sevilla FC, as they picked up where they left off in the Benito Villamarín, and notched up another away league win. A goal in the opening stages from Banega via a penalty was enough to secure the 16th point away from home that Sevilla have managed this season, again whilst keeping another clean sheet. Sevilla, with the win, have now moved up to third place in the league on 27 points.

With temperatures low to start off, both teams tried to impose themselves on the game early on. With just under a quarter of an hour played, the decisive moment came. As Nolito went to strike the ball, Moyano took him out and a penalty was given. At the first attempt, Banega's penalty was saved but he got a second bite at the cherry after the Valladolid 'keeper was adjudged to have come off his line before the penalty was struck. Banega made no mistake with the second try and sent his penalty right into the top corner.

Valladolid had a chance to draw the game level through Sandro and Nolito could have made it 2 nil before the break

The hosts reacted well and started to control the game, playing most of it in Sevilla's half. Through crosses into the box and corners, Valladolid had a few chances to capitalise. The best fell to Sandro who lost Jesús Navas, but his shot went over the bar.

With Valladolid pushing forward and looking for the equaliser at the end of the first half, Lopetegui's men missed a great opportunity to put themselves two goals to the good. Nolito was played through one on one with only the 'keeper to beat, but his attempt at a chip was weak and fell into the hands of the goalkeeper.

Sevilla held on well at the end of the game, even after going down to ten men after Ocampos was sent off

The second half started just like the first half had ended. The hosts kept making life difficult for Sevilla. Vaclík had to make a save from a Hervías free-kick - something which was a warning shot for the away team. As the time went on, Valladolid kept searching for the goal that would draw them level.

As the clock ran down, and even though Sevilla didn't create any clear chances to enhance their lead, they managed the game well and kept Sergio González's men at bay. Lopetegui made his changes and was forced into taking captain, Jesús Navas, off. In addition, in injury time Ocampos was given a second yellow card for arguing and was sent off. At the end, Valladolid didn't trouble Vaclík too much as Sevilla won away from home for the fifth time this season.

Next week, Sevilla will host Qarabag on Thursday night in the fifth group match of the UEFA Europa League, with kick off at 21.00. Next, on Sunday 1st December, it's the turn of CD Leganés to visit the Sánchez-Pizjuán in Matchday 15 in La Liga. That game will kick off at 12.00.
