Sevilla FC have been drawn against Linares Deportivo in the Copa del Rey Round of 32, with the fixture scheduled to take place at Linarejos on Wednesday 4th January at 19:00 CET.

Cup clashes with fellow Andalusian opposition has become a common occurrence since the introduction of the new Copa del Rey format in 2019, with this being our seventh all-Andalusian match since December 2020.

One of the six previous matches was, strangely enough, also an away match against Linares Deportivo. On 5th January 2021, we travelled to Linarejos for a Second Round clash, running out 2-0 winners with a free kick from Óscar Rodríguez and an own goal from Fran Lara.

There was also a trip to Linares in the Round of 32 in the 2002/03 season, when our hosts were named CD Linares. That match also ended in a win, with Antoñito and Tomás Hervás scoring in a 2-1 win.

After 17 matches, Linares Deportivo are in sixth place of Group 1 of the third-tier Primera RFEF. They reached this stage of the tournament after a 2-1 away win at Unión Adarve and a 1-0 win yesterday at home to Racing de Santander.
