Gonzalo Montiel was in the hot seat this Tuesday for a new edition of "A Balón Parado", on Sevilla FC Television. The Sevilla right-back first touched on the Sevilla-Betis derby and the differences between that of Spain and Argentina: "The fans intensify the derbies here and it is quite notable. They're are unique matches, a lot of adrenaline is felt and you get a bit carried away when you're playing and the climate leads to that."

Going into more detail, Montiel spoke about his arrival at the club and his debut: "The signing was done very quickly. It was just a few days after playing one of the clásicos and I talked to Papu, Lucas and Marcos, who also advised the city to me when the interest arose. I arrived in the heat and I had to quarantine in a hotel, just as Rafa Mir arrived as well. Then, in the debut against Valencia, everything went according to plan. A goal, an assist... I didn't have time to celebrate, it deflected off the defender but went in." Moreover, Montiel was sincere when talking about how he goes about every fixture: "On the pitch, I like communicating with everyone. I like to be involved all the time, I don't like losing at all, I've been this way since I was little. You learn a bit of everything from day to day, little details that you wouldn't have before. I usually cover between 10 to 11 kilometres every game."

In closing Montiel focused on the current situation, commenting on the group's desire to finish the season achieving the objectives already set out: "There are 8 finals to play, all the games are essential. We have to be strong at home, but taking each game one at a time. The group deserves to be in the Champions League because we've fought and we are a strong side. When the anthem plays around the stadium, it's a unique feeling and the fans' support never lacks. I dreamed of being in Europe since I was young and I am also happy with the effort my family put in as well."
