Sevilla FC came away with a vital win last night in Vigo after coming back from from 3-2 down against RC Celta. While it was a true team effort to complete the comeback, a key figure stood out once more for Julen Lopetegui's team - even more this time as he got onto the scoresheet: Fernando Reges.

The Brazilian put in another excellent position as the defensive midfielder just ahead of the defenders and behind Jordán and Rakitić in midfield. Fernando displays authority, leadership, and know-how to move in between the defenders, recover lost balls, help in the build-up or push into the opponent's half. His attacking talent was on show last night as he scored Sevilla's goal after a marauding run into Celta's half before unleashing a long-range strike, which with the help of Aidoo found its way into the back of the net.

Fernando has made four assists this season, one more than in 2019/20

Fernando's goal was his first goal outside the box in the First Division after he scored four goals for Manchester City and two for Sevilla. Last night was his 79th game in Sevilla colours, the 37th this season, a season in which he has provided four assists as well, one more than last season. Sevilla's number 25 sits on 3,000 minutes this season and could beat last season's tally of 3,300 in the remaining eight matches.
