Sevilla FC's Marketing Director, Ramón Loarte, alongside Real Betis' Head of Business, Ramón Alarcón, came together in an event in New York organised by La Liga to promote both clubs to the American market. Both of them highlighted that of the 690,000 people living in Seville, 14% are members of one of the two clubs, a much larger figure than other cities which also have more than one big club.

Despite the eternal rivalry between Sevilla and Betis, Alarcón and Loarte were united in America, a market they wish to target to help the clubs grow: 'The rivalry is for the fans and the stadium. There are projects that can benefit both clubs and the city of Seville which we all love,' Loarte said. 'It was very easy to come to an agreement together,' said Sevilla's representative who underlined the importance of La Liga's role in promoting Spanish football throughout the world

Loarte also highlighted the club's presence in America with their two football academies in Miami and another two in New Jersey, as well as stating that this is one of the most interesting markets currently: 'Four years ago, we began on a strategy of internationalisation - we translate content into more than ten languages and we are very focused on the North American market.'
