If Sevilla's start of the season is being marked by anything, it's by the records that are being broken, especially in Europe. In fact, the match which was the club's 100th win in European competition and the biggest win of all them, the team put themselves as the highest scorers in the tournament so far. This could be expected with Sevilla having already played twelve games in Europe this season, but the stat also refers to just the group stages, where Sevilla have played the same amount of matches as the other 47 competitors.

And with twelve goals in three games, an average of four goals a game, no other team can equal Sevilla in the Europa League. The closest team to this figure is Villareal, who put themselves on ten goals scored with their five last night. After them, you have Bayer Leverkusen and Salzburg, who both have nine goals to their name so far. Just below them are Dinamo Zagreb, Arsenal and Eintracht Frankfurt with eight. Yet, having scored so many has not meant that we have forgotten about the defensive aspect, as our goal difference (9+) is the highest as well. The nearest teams to this are Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb, Arsenal, and Frankfurt with 6+.

As would be expected these numbers shoot up if the whole tournament so far is included. Including the six knock-out games that started right back in July, the goal difference increases to 29+, with an average of three goals a game. Even still, in a group which has three teams on the same amount of points, we must keep pushing in the second-half of the group stage to secure our spot in the Round of 32, with the next game in Turkey on 8 November
