BANEGA: 'WE CAME OUT VERY FOCUSED AND WE WERE ABLE TO SET THE TONE OF THE GAME'

The Argentine midfielder assessed what Sevilla achieved on Thursday night in the Europa League: 'It's a very difficult competition where you can't relax and we're happy to finish first in the group'

Ever Banega was interviewed after the win against FC Krasnodar, which saw Sevilla FC qualify as group J winners. The Argentine reiterated that 'we got the job done. We knew that we were playing against a tough opponent, but we came out very focused and we were able to set the tone for the match.'

The scorer of the third goal of the night highlighted the importance of the team's pressing on Thursday night: 'The first 15 minutes we came out with a lot of intensity and we had the chance to score goals and that was key for the rest of the game.'

To finish, Sevilla FC's number 10 spoke about the role of the Russian side, reemphasising that there are no easy opponents in this competition: 'Every team has their strengths. They've shown that they're a strong side by making it through to the next round. It's a very difficult competition where you can't relax and we're happy to finish first in the group.'
