Sevilla FC picked up another vital win last night in La Liga against Deportivo Alavés at the Mendizorroza. The win puts the team on 33 points in the league with one match to go before having played half of the season. En-Nesyri and Suso's first-half goals, rounded off with Bono's penalty save at the death, sealed Sevilla's tenth league win this season. Of these ten wins, five have been away from home, emphasising the team are just as strong away from the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán as they are in it.

Furthermore, with the win in Vitoria, Julen Lopetegui's team have now won ten away matches in all competitions. Looking back at the last eleven away matches, since the defeat in Bilbao on 31 October, the team have won an impressive nine from eleven, with only the draw at the Benito Villamarín and the defeat against Atlético Madrid denying the team from an incredible winning streak away from home. The Nervionenses sit on ten away wins from fifteen away matches, posting an impressive win rate of 67%.

Sevilla FC have already won more away games this season than in the entirety of 16/17 and they are just one win away from equalling 17/18 and 18/19

Including data from last season, Lopetegui's first with the Club, the Blanquirrojos have 23 wins from 41 away matches, not including the post-lockdown Europa League matches. This puts the team on more than 50% of away matches won. In this 20/21 season, Sevilla have already won more away games this season than in the entirety of 16/17, when they won nine, and they are just one win away from equalling 17/18 and 18/19, when they won eleven away matches in the entire season.
