Sevilla FC Women bounced back from last week's heavy defeat with a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Real Sociedad on Holy Saturday. Despite their first-half dominance, Cristian Toro's side were made to work for the three points, staying strong despite the Real Sociedad fightback.

The first half was all one-way traffic with Sevilla FC Women seizing the initiative. Great work by Inma Gabarro - later named as Player of the Match - on the left wing resulted in an early corner, which Eva Llamas turned in at the back post. The lead was doubled just before the half-hour mark when Gemma Gili swung in a corner that visiting keeper Olatz Santana could not prevent from crossing the line.

With half time approaching, more good work by Gabarro forced an error by the away side's defence, leaving Cristina Martín-Prieto with a golden opportunity to extend the lead. The team's top scorer made no mistake, putting clear daylight between the two sides. But Real Sociedad were not ready to give up and pulled a goal back just the half-time whistle, Emma Ramírez with an impressive low finish from outside the box. As the rain hammered down after the break, Sevilla FC Women found themselves under pressure with the visitors looking to get well and truly back into the contest. On the hour mark, Franssi brought the deficit back to just one goal after a long-range effort crashed into the post and fell perfectly to her. 3-2 with half an hour to go and the momentum certainly with the away side.

A beautiful Toni Payne goal made sure of the three points

With the game back in the balance, Cristian Toro introduced substitutes from the bench as they looked to retake control of the game. With only five minutes left on the clock, Toni Payne made sure that the three points would be staying in Sevilla, scoring with a stunning curled finish into the top-right corner. Victory means that Sevilla FC Women head into the international break on a high, making up for last week's disappointment. Next up is a trip to the Basque Country to face SD Eibar on 13 April.
