Following Sevilla FC Women's bittersweet draw against Granada, striker Cristina Martín-Prieto has become Liga F's joint top scorer of the season among Spanish players. Her goal on the stroke of half time in Granada puts her level with Sheila Guijarro on 12 goals. This means that Martín-Prieto has matched her tally from last season after only 18 games. At this point last season she had managed seven goals.

The striker is clearly a crucial part of Cristian Toro's side, playing 1,562 minutes this season, more than any other player. She is the player with the second most attacking involvements, be it shots or passes, behind Inma Gabarro, thanks to her constant running on the wing.

Martín-Prieto is currently in her richest vein of form since returning to what has always been her home. Scoring goals of all kind, she must certainly be knocking on the door of the national team. She has scored goals with her preferred right foot, her weaker left, as well as with her head, making her one of the most complete strikers in the league. She has definitely written her name in the club's history, scoring a brace in November's derby against Real Betis.

The stats don't lie. Martín-Prieto is one of the best strikers in the league.

Martín-Prieto joined Sevilla FC Women at the start of last season with the hope of boosting the team's attacking options. Her 12 goals this season see her only one short of her best ever goal-scoring campaign - 13 for UD Tenerife during the 2021/22 season. The stats don't lie. She is one of the best strikers in the league.
