Hannibal Mejbri has been officially unveiled as our new signing, on loan from Manchester United. After completing his first training session today and accompanied by Víctor Orta, the French-Tunisian began by congratulating his teammates for their Copa del Rey victory on Tuesday night at Getafe: "I was watching the game at the hotel and was happy to see the team win and qualify for the next round. Now we have to keep progressing and getting wins under our belt. Today was my first training session, everything went well although I think I brought the rain from Manchester! I've met my teammates and I'm ready to play." Asked to describe himself, he said he was "a midfielder who can defend, attack, score, press.... I can do many things and help the team in many ways. We have spoken with the coach, I have seen and understood what he wants from me on a tactical level, but the important thing is to be united because we have a great group and things can only improve."

Despite having several offers on the table and the team's current situation, Hannibal was keen to sign: "Sevilla is a great club. Although we are going through a complicated situation right now, we are going to overcome it. I'm confident in the players and the staff and, as I said, I really like the project, Spanish football too and on Sunday I'll be 21, so I'm coming to learn and gain experience. It is true that there were talks with the club in the summer, but it didn't happen in the end and I am happy to be here now to help the team." He also acknowledged that he is aware of the success another French-born Tunisian international had here: "I know the story of Ben Yedder here. I'm excited that he did well here and hopefully I can receive the same support and have the same bond with the fans."

When questioned about his footballing idols, he revealed that "my favourite player is Iniesta. And also Zidane. That's not to say that I play like them, but I have admired them for a long time and hopefully this is the move that kickstarts a similar career for me." Finally, he explained that he had been given advice about the city and the club before moving. "I spoke with Martial and some other players that have played in Spain. They spoke very highly of Sevilla, saying that is a magnificent city and that I would adapt easily. They have all wished me the best with this move."
