Our first team head coach left the San Moix disappointed with the refereeing decisions

Diego Alonso started his interview in the flash zone at Son Moix by discussing the elephant in the room - VAR. "I don't think the decisions made by the VAR today were correct. We talk about clear and obvious errors, but this is not clear. I just don't see it. There is no clear evidence that the ball touches his [En-Nesyri's] elbow. It is just as possible that it deflects off his lower back with his elbow tucked behind his body. I find it really hard to understand how the VAR can disallow the goal without seeing a clear image. Also, we could have had a penalty in the first half. The Mallorca defender was all over En-Nesyri for a good few seconds, the ball came in towards him but he couldn't move and couldn't get to the ball. That, to me, was a clear penalty. But the VAR did not intervene on that occasion."

"We played well for 90 minutes without rewards. We controlled the game, we put them under pressure, we had chances, their keeper made some good saves. It is a difficult result to take and I can't blame the players. Obviously, there are always areas to improve, but we were not helped by the decisions during the game."

Looking ahead to the next game, against Lens, he said "we have no option other than to pick ourselves up and think about how we are going to win the next one. We have to build on what we did today, against Villarreal, the second half against Real Sociedad and the first 60 minutes against PSV. We are playing better and I am still confident that positive results are on the way. We are going to do everything we can to win on Tuesday."
