On Thursday, the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán hosted the closing ceremony of the ECA (European Clubs Association), which featured a talk about the success of Sevilla's youth academy as one of the best in Spain. As part of this final event, the audience of club representatives took part in a series of planned activities at our impressive fortress.
The stadium's press room was the setting for the talk about the running of the academy, which acts home for young players from outside the local area to hone their development. Later on, there was a discussion about the technological innovation plan that the club has implemented across all departments and in doing so has seen us become pioneers in this field worldwide. Those who led the talk were José María Cruz Gallardo, who is the head of the Research + Development + Innovation department and Juan Esteban Gómez, head of Digitisation and Improvement in the aforementioned department.
To wrap up the conference, guests were treated to the Stadium Tour, a unique opportunity to discover behind the scenes of one of the most magical stadiums in football while reflecting on the incredible history of our club. There were almost 60 participants at the event, including personnel from Manchester City, Arsenal FC, Porto FC, Ajax, Valencia CF, Athletic Club and Bayer Leverkusen, among many others, who were delighted by the hospitality they received at both the training ground and the Ramón Sáchez-Pizjuán.
