In the 89th minute of the game against RCD Espanyol, and after striking the bar moments before, Wissam Ben Yedder scored his fiftieth goal in Sevilla's colours to give the Nervionenses the win and round off a magical night in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán before the latest international break. The Frenchman, who managed to play the match after overcoming his injury, came on off the bench, replacing Promes at half-time, changing the look of the game and he got his well-earned prize.

50 goals in 101 games. Only one goal and two away respectively from greats like Ramón Vázquez (51) and Montero (52), and within shooting distance of other Sevilla legends like Pepe López and Torróntegui (54), Pepillo (56) and the Austrian Toni Polster (57). Likewise, with his 50 goals, Wissam Ben Yedder has become the third quickest player in Sevilla's history to reach this figure in the 21st century. He is below the 82 games which Baptista took, who leads the list, and the 98 which Kanouté needed. The Frenchman is well clear in third place of players like Luis Fabiano, who needed 113 games, or Gameiro, who reached the milestone in his 118th game.

Ben Yedder is one goal away from the 51 that Ramón Vázquez scored and two from the 52 that Montero managed, both Sevilla legends

Cuerpo Inferior

In the 21st century, the French striker is part of a select group of players who have scored at least 50 goals. Kanouté managed 136, Luis Fabiano 106, Negredo 85, Gamerio 67 and Baptista scored exactly 50, meaning Ben Yedder will surpass him with his next goal. With a goal every two games since his arrival in Nervión in 2016/17, Wissam Ben Yedder has not stopped beating records and leaving his name in the history books.

The Frenchman is going through a superb moment as the striker in Pablo Machín's system, becoming an indispensable player for the Sorian alongside André Silva. And may it last.
