Eight games remain to achieve our aims in La Liga Santander in 2021/22. After climbing to second place in the league way back in matchday 12, last Sunday's defeat at the Camp Nou meant that we fell out of this position. However, Julen Lopetegui's side still have a four-point advantage over fifth place - fourth place being the aim at the start of the season. It was the third time this season we lost this season, also like the two previous defeats in Los Cármenes and the Bernabéu by one goal. Sevilla also have the third best goal difference of the 20 teams in the first division.

Only Real Madrid (+35) and FC Barcelona (+28) can better the +20 of Sevilla, who have scored exactly twice as mnay (40) than they have conceded (20). Fourth in the list is Atlético Madrid who also have (+20) but they are not able to match the numbers of Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla. Sevilla FC also have the fewest goals conceded with seven fewer than Real Madrid, who is the next closest team with 26 conceded. They are followed by Barcelona, Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Athletic on 29 goals conceded, almost a third more than Sevilla. Also, nine out of the 19 rivals in the league have conceded twice or more goals than Julen Lopetegui's side so far this year.

Bono is currently leading the standings in the Zamora Trophy eight games from the end

This all makes Bono the leader in the standings for the Zamora Trophy with a ratio of 0.58 goals conceded per game. If he were to achieve it he would become the first goalkeeper in the club's history to have the fewest goals conceded. All of this of course requires the attack to help out by winning by one goal in the last four matchdays. It is true they create chances, as shown in the Camp Nou, where they fought until the final whistle. However, the team suffered with their top scorer from last year, Youssef En-Nesyri injured, which was a setback in the offensive third. It is now time to continue being strong at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, where the team still hasn't lost and where they will fight for 15 out of the 24 points still left this seaon.

You have to remember Sevilla is the leader at home so far this season, with the same number of points as Real Madrid but with one less game. In fact they are the only team to still not know what it is to lose at home this season. Granada - this Friday as well as Real Madrid, Cádiz, Mallorca and Athletic, who still have to come to Nervión. A season in which, as always, the Sevilla fans will have a lot to say about, acting as the twelfth man and will leave everything to achieve the aims.
