Tecatito and Diego Carlos spoke to club media on Holy Wednesday on a media day organised by the club and La Liga ahead of the Sunday's game against Real Madrid. The Mexican, who will face Real Madrid for the first time, said that "for how important a game this is, the week has gone really well. It is a special game and I am working very hard every day. It is a great stage in which to enjoy football. In Mexico, many people will watch the game because they are two big teams and we are in the final few games of the season."

For the Mexican, it would be important to score his first goal in a game like this: "It is a game that you dream of playing as a child and to have it just a few days away is amazing. I hope that it will be amazing for everyone. I was speaking to a friend and I said to him that I had imagined scoring my first goal on Sunday. My first game was the derby and there I realised that the fans have a lot of influence here. I hope that we can give them a good game." Although he knows the challenge of the opponent, he backs his teammates: "The team comes into the game playing well. We always try to give our best and that is what we are going to do on Sunday. Against Real Madrid you have to be very alert because they can hurt you in any moment. It is a game to get all the quality and play as one."

Diego Carlos also backed the team after recognising the good work during the week: "We are all training together and thinking already about the game. We know that it is a difficult game against a great team but I try to treat every team the same and we will go out trying to get a good result. They are a great team who have quality players. We can't let up at any moment because they can always hurt you. We know the players and the team that we are going to face and we are already used to competing with them."

Clearly, there remains a bitter taste after the away match: "In the Bernabéu we played well but Vinicius shot, which usually isn't his strength, and they won it at the end. Against Real Madrid we usually play well and we always are looking for a positive result. Sunday will be no different. Playing at home with our fans, with their support driving us on, it will be amazing and I hope that we will all enjoy it and we are ready."
