Jorge Sampaoli highlighted his team's good performance in the match against City, but acknowledged that too many mistakes were made: "There is a structural difference and a difference in star power, but the team played a competitive game when you look past the unforced errors that allowed the opposition to take the lead.

The team continued with their approach, whilst the opposition improved with the changes, but Sevilla played a game above my expectations today. We had a very good reading of the game, but when playing this kind of match you can't make the mistakes we made today".
