Sevilla FC had already broken Champions League records last week with their 23 shots. Another record was broken last night, with the team put up against every obstacle to end their good form in Europe. Not only did Lopetegui's men manage to continue the team's unbeaten run in Europe at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán - now at 14 matches, stretching back to the defeat against Bayern Munich in April 2018 - they also turned around a match that was going completely against the team.

If the team manage to claim a point against Chelsea FC on the penultimate matchday, they will equal their second best unbeaten home run in Europe, with 13 victories and two draws between 2007 and 2009. Sevilla FC did not lose a home European match in the entirety of the 20th Century - it wasn't until December 2006 that the team would fall in Europe at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, losing 2-1 to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

Last night's comeback was something no team had done before in the Champions League. Not only did the team come from two goal down, something that has only been achieved once in the tournament. The team also managed to do so with ten men for the entirety of the second half. Only Real Madrid in 04/05 can match the comeback feat achieved last night, after De Rossi and Cassano put Roma 2-0 up at the Santiago Bernabéu after 21 minutes. Raúl halved the deficit on the brink of half time, before the team ended up winning 4-2 thanks to goals from Figo, another from Raúl, and a final strike from Roberto Carlos.

The fact that Sevilla did all this whilst being a man down for the entire second half is what makes it a record. Jesús Navas received a straight red for a professional foul when Olsson was through on goal against Vaclík. The sending off was Navas' second in a career spanning 530 games at the club. His first game in a the second leg of a UEL round of 16 match against Lille, with the then youngster seeing a red card after an encounter with an opponent.
