Sevilla FC will play the last Champions League group game tonight against Stade Rennais, with kick-off at 21:00 CET. Sevilla come into the match having already qualified for the last-16 and unable to qualify as group winners after last week's defeat against Chelsea. The draw for the next round will take place on 14 December.

Julen Lopetegui's team will be looking for a win at Roazhon Park that gets them back to winning ways after two consecutive losses against Chelsea and Real Madrid. It is the first time Sevilla are playing for nothing on the last day of the group stages in the Champions League, and the team have never lost on matchday six, with three wins and two draws. The Nervionenses are also unbeaten in their last five away games in the UCL.

The home team lost their previous match against FC Krasnodar, a defeat that left them unable to qualify for the UEFA Europa League by finishing third in the group. The French side are ninth in Ligue 1 with 19 points from 12 games played and come into the game in a bad run of form, having only secured one point from the last seven games between Ligue 1 and the Champions League

Julen Lopetegui outlined in his press conference yesterday that in this tight calendar 'it is an obligation, not a choice, to manage your players' minutes.' Nemanja Gudelj spoke about the Madrid loss, stating 'we don't spend days stewing over wins so we won't do it with losses.'

The match will be played this Wednesday 8 December at the Roazhon Park, with kick-off at 21:00 CET. The Pole Bartosz Frankowski will referee the fixture.
