"Cádiz are clear in what they want to do and they're just off the back of a match in which they could have beaten Real Madrid"

Sevilla FC coach Julen Lopetegui appeared before the media this Sunday afternoon ahead of tomorrow's league clash against Cádiz CF. Lopetegui began by saying "every team is in the same situation, with the difficulties it brings. We've been able to work with very few first-team players and we hope today or tomorrow some of them can come back, but they'd be going into the match without having trained. The match won't be moved and we have to adapt. Others put the music on and our job is to dance. Maybe they could have thought a bit more to protect the competition, aside from the interests that we all have."

"I'm a manager and my job is to coach, but I still have my opinion which I have shared. Beyond that, Cádiz are in good form and played well against Granada and Real Madrid. They nullified Madrid and even almost beat them. It's going to be a tough match. They are clear in what they want to do. They have a good team and coach."

Julen continued: "You can only have four youth players on the pitch and you need seven from the first team. We're going to have issues with the subs - we won't be able to do what we want. They could have taken a look at that as well. We will look down to the academy as we did before the break. I won't go into who could be out, that serves no purpose. We are hoping for some negative results for the match. Suso, Lamela and Navas are long-term injuries."

For his wish for the new year, Julen was clear: "It wouldn't hurt to wish for better health and to have as many players available as possible for our games."
