Club Chairman José Castro also offered his thoughts on the win in El Gran Derbi on Thursday, who was very happy with the display: "We saw an extraordinary match, we were clearly superior both technically and physically, and above all in intensity. We saw lots of responsibility, desires, and the necessity to win the match for themselves, the table and our people. It's a shame that they could not be here in person at our home. They will have enjoyed it at home and they'll be happy with the team's effort and the three points. We now have a 17 point lead over our old enemy, so there's clear daylight between us".

There was a clear aim beyond the sporting sense: "It was for Marcelo, one of our legends. We promised to dedicate it to him and our people, we did just that". Castro also spoke about how extraordinary the moment was: "All of it was so strange, seeing the stadium empty, silent... It's strange, but we have to be responsible, we have to live this and I hope our fans can be with us soon, enjoying this".

The Seville dugout has been the extension of the fans: "During the week, many players have talked about the family that is here at the club. It shows. Those who have played have put in so much effort and those who did not play helped and have given that encouragement to those who have played. That's how you win important things, all of them coming together".

We also cannot forget that those points are vital: Today's match, as well as the joy, has the importance of adding another three points to our aim of Champions League qualification. We'll go for it, we're third and we have to continue like this for the aim we have in mind, which is so important".
