The centre-back regretted the way in which they conceded the goal

Once again in La Liga, Sergi Gómez started at the back. After the draw at home to Alavés, he gave his verdict: "We knew it was going to be a tough game and it was. Despite us having all the possession, they knew how to play and were just waiting on any error or slip-up from us. They didn't have any opportunities, but we knew they were very good in the air and that's how their goal came about. Despite them going in front, we were able to get back into the game through a penalty and we tried to get the winner late on".

Gómez didn't focus on the missed chances for his team, but on the positives: "If every team looked at all the chances that they could have scored, then we would all be top of the table. The important thing is that we're creating chances. We have to keep this up and we know that as a team, we can do great things".

After elimination from the Copa del Rey,the most important part of the season is still to come: "Obviously it was a huge blow for us all, something that came as a shock. We knew it was going to be a difficult game there. They were the better side. However, now we have to focus on the upcoming months and achieving our objectives. We have to keep believing in the quality that we have and in the manager."

Now, they have a full week of training: "In the end, it could be a good thing. It could help us eradicate errors and focus on what we can do well. There's no doubt that we'll be going to Vigo for the three points".
