Nolito spoke to the cameras after the defeat in the Last 16 of the Copa del Rey against CD Mirandés. Sevilla's number 8 said: "There's no explanation. Mirandés were much better than us in the first half. In the second half we were slightly better, but we didn't score when we needed to and that's football. The day whenever you take your foot off the gas, anybody can hurt you. We threw it away in the first half and unfortunately, that was that".
Nolito went on to discuss the first half: "The key was the first half, when they were better than us and scored twice. It's always hard to score in any game, no matter the level of the competition; even though we had chances at the start of the second half. Then, they finished us off with the third. We have to puff out our chests and move on". He also added: "We've got another vital game on Sunday. Unfortunately, our dream of winning the Copa del Rey is over".
To finish off, Nolito wished to send a message to the Sevillistas: "Us, along with the fans, we're all hurting. We've hit a bump in the road but I'd ask them to please, trust us. Up until now we've been having a good season. I wished the outcome of this match could have been different, but we all have to move on and focus on the next four months of football. You can't stop competing at the highest level, no matter which team you come up against".
