"I had butterflies in my stomach when I came on"

Pepe Mena made his first European appearance for Sevilla FC, and his first appearance at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, as Sevilla beat Qarabag 2-0: "I feel very proud. It's a privilege for me to make my debut here at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, I've dreamed of this for many years. I've had a couple of years with the first team so I'm grateful for the opportunity".

It was a special experience for the youngster: "When I came on I had butterflies in my stomach, but the team were confident so I settled down and became calmer".

Mena was keen to thank people for the debut: "They started off and sat deep, and in numbers too, we were able to get the win even though they played well. My next aim is to train with all of them and get my league debut. This debut is thanks to all the people that support and help me, above all my parents, who are always taking me down to the training ground".
