Carlos Álvarez pulled one back with a long-range effort

José Ángel hit the crossbar just five minutes later, proof that Sevilla Atlético were not going to throw the towel in early doors. The frantic pace of the encounter continued, with both sides getting forward at almost every opportunity. Javi Díaz made a crucial save to prevent the hosts going three goals up, before Carlos Álvarez, brought on by Acejo after just half an hour, made a crucial block to stop a dangerous Alcoyano counter-attack. A few minutes laterthe substitute would halve the deficit with a superb long-range effort which got the better of José Juan, who had already made an important save to keep the score at 2-0.

The second half continued to provide the same attacking football from the first half, with both sides looking to score. Alcoyano had chances at the start of the half but were unable to find a third. Peral looked for an equaliser with a long-range free kickbut José Juan was equal to the task.
