Another new arrival in Nervión to present, this time that of Simón Kjaer, the seventh new signing ahead of the new season. Alongside the Dane at his presentation was Sevilla FC President José Castro, who emphasised the high level of excitement Sevilla fans should have,“as we are building a formidable team”.

"With the squad that we have, we have to achieve great things this season"

In fact, being the team in La Liga with the most new signings this summer, according to the President, the enthusiasm is obvious: “It is proof of the excitement that we have. We've spent months working to try to have the best team, a formidable team, that the fans can get excited about as much as us. I don't remember any season in which every signing, right up to the seventh, was the first choice. That, together with the squad we have, makes us think that this year we have to achieve great things. And it's obvious that we are tremendously excited. We aren't a bank, here save money or give credit, we are a footballing enterprise and we have to have the best team to achieve our sporting and economic objectives, while also exciting the fans”.

"It's not about making money, but that we can enjoy remembering him"

He also spoke about the upcoming Trofeo Antonio Puerta event, in which Sevilla FC will grace the pitch of the Sánchez-Pizjuán for the first time this season. A tournament for which he expects 'a massive influx of people because, as I said yesterday, a lot has changed. Before we were bringing in Andalusian teams, recently promoted... as a way of paying homage to them as well. But last year Boca Juniors came and this year Roma, so we have changed things in order to give the event the importance it deserves. We intend for the match to become more renowned and involve a substantial opponent in order to fill the stands. Hence why we have changed, and instead of giving season ticket holders their place at the match without question, there is now the possibility of giving up your seat if you cannot go. It's not a question of making money, but that we enjoy remembering our 'diamond left-black', on a beautiful August night”.
