This weekend, Sevilla FC return to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán for Matchday 10 in La Liga, a game which will take them over the quarter-way mark of the league campaign. Coming up against them this time, at 18.30 on Sunday, is Getafe CF, an opponent who has had the upper-hand of the rivalry between these two teams in recent years.

Since their arrival in the top-flight in the 2004/05 season, the team, now managed by José Bordalás, have played Sevilla on 28 occasions. Of the 28 games played, it's Getafe who have the edge as Sevilla's record stands at: ten victories, twelve defeats and six draws. From this, we can say that Getafe CF are the seventh toughest team that Sevilla FC come up against nowadays, something which Lopetegui's side will be hoping to rectify on Sunday evening.

Sevilla have won over half of their encounters against Getafe in the Sánchez-Pizjuán

Above Getafe on the list of teams who are the most dangerous for Sevilla to play against in the top-flight, are: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad and Deportivo de la Coruña. Likewise, it's worth noting that Logroñés, Pontevedra, Compostela and Real Jaén would slip into this list as well; however, Sevilla haven't played these teams on more than 20 occasions and the games that did take place, happened many years ago.

As for statistics in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán between the two teams, Sevilla have had the upper-hand with eight wins, four defeats and two draws, which adds up to a 75% unbeaten record. This statistic was damaged in Getafe's last visit however, when they came away with a 2-0 win from Sevilla in the 2018/19 season.

Sevilla will be looking to get to within one victory of the record they currently have with Getafe, as those from Madrid have 12 compared with Sevilla's 10

Therefore, this Sunday in the Sánchez-Pizjuán, Sevilla are hosting a side whom they have struggled against in the past and, after a turbulent start to the league season, are coming off the back of two consecutive wins and sit just the three points behind Sevilla in the league table. This, if it was needed, gives Sevilla even more reason to start to overturn the tables and their record in this fixture as they will look to earn their 11th victory over the Madrid-based team in La Liga tomorrow evening.
