Fernando Navarro, who works alongside Monchi for Sevilla FC's sporting management, spoke to the Club's official media to analyse the team's preseason: "We are starting to lay the foundations for what the year is going to be like, the season is demanding. It is about accumulating and absorbing concepts. We are fortunate to have a very strong group in which we all know each other. It's time to work hard and recharge our batteries".

The ex-Sevilla player was very positive about the players' preparation ahead of preseason: "Over the years, the philosophy of the player has changed, they're practically ready to compete. It's great to see the fitness and enthusiasm with which they have arrived. We are very happy with the readiness and excitement that they all have". The ex-left back spoke about the change in preseasons over time: "Tasks are now more integrated with fitness, but, before, the two things were separated. As a player, it's nice to be tricked by the presence of the ball".

Fernando Navarro did not hide the squad's excitement ahead of next season: "We aspire to the maximum, to always do everything as well as possible. We know how demanding we are. This is the time to learn things and work well, because later on we practically can't train". For Fernando, preseason is an essential time regarding the unity of the team: "It's a time to make the group more cohesive, to share experiences and meals, to make them into a team. These weeks of living together are good for everything, not only for the physical and technical aspects, but also for the human aspect, for them to get to know each other better".

He also highlighted the commitment of the coach, Julen Lopetegui, from the very beginning: "Having Julen's presence and a great group of players, who have been working with him for three yearsallows you to have a well-established philosophy and a very important way of training. Continuity is good for everyone. Both the coach and the team have had two fantastic seasons, and this year we hope to equal and better them".

To finish, Navarro highlighted the importance of fans returning to stadiums: "It's been a very strange season-and-a-half. It's difficult to describe what it felt like on the pitch. In our stadium, the fans live football like in no other stadium and they are a key part of our performances".
