TOMÁŠ VACLÍK SAYS GOODBYE TO SEVILLA FC AFTER THREE SEASONS IN WHITE AND RED

Vaclík leaves with 94 games played, one UEFA Europa League and plenty of memories for Sevilla fans in his three seasons

Czech goalkeeper Tomáš Vaclík bids farewell to Sevilla FC and does so having left his mark at the Club. Since landing in Seville that scorching 6 July 2018, recruited by Joaquín Caparrós, the goalkeeper has defended Sevilla FC's goal with resolve and determination, showing his ability off the bat by winning Goalkeeper of the Month in November of his first season in La Liga.

Within those 8,340 minutes played across all competitions in three seasons, 94 matches and 34 clean sheets, there have been performances that will live in the memory of Sevilla fans with the resilience he showed, such as that famous showing in September 2018 in which he kept out the mighty attackers of Real Madrid in a 3-0 win. The goalkeeper said that he will never forget that match, after spending the night before in hospital with his daughter who had fallen over as the team showed the utmost support for the Czech.

Vaclík had some memorable performances in his three years, such as against Real Madrid, Levante and Real Betis

Other great performances from Vaclík were the away match against Levante UD in his first season in which the team won 6-2 and he stopped a penalty from Morales. Another memorable day was last season's derby in the Villamarín where he made a superb stop to deny Álex Moreno levelling the match. This season, he recovered well after goals from ex-Sevilla players Iago Aspas and Nolito in the team's 4-2 victory against RC Celta in Nervión. And in his very last match for the Club on Sunday against Deportivo Alavés, he made a great stop to deny Joselu and push the team onto breaking their record points tally in the league with Papu Gómez' goal.

A respected goalkeeper bids farewell, who even in the most difficult moments always spoke in the plural, the team. He had the chance to play in the Champions League and on the way he has the memory of winning the UEFA Europa League after a tough injury blow against SD Eibar in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán as he denied an equaliser. Coaches Pablo Machín, Joaquín Caparrós and Julen Lopetegui have always found a place for the Czech, whose tears demonstrate the connection he came to create with the Club.
