Clement Lenglet has consolidated his impressive start in Spanish football during this 17/18 campaign. Having arrived just last winter transfer window, his start to his second season with Sevilla has been littered with impressive performances. At just 22-years-old, the French centre-back has already proved his clear worth and has shown himself to have some of the best potential in the squad

With a smart footballing brain and skill in stealing the ball with his fine left foot, Lenglet lacks neither conviction nor the unteachable gift of positioning. All the promise he showed in the 16/17 season has been fulfilled this season, where Lenglet has turned into one of the mainstays of the side and the player with - statistically speaking - more trust than any from Eduardo Berizzo.

With Saturday's match in the Camp Nou, Clement Lenglet has surpassed Sergio Rico and become the player with the most minutes this season, with 1,316 in 16 matches - having missed just two matches. The Frenchman, moreover, has scored two goals - both from corners - against Espanyol in La Liga and Spartak in the Champions League.

Lenglet has now made 35 appearances for Sevilla in his ten months in Nervión. It's a statistic that's more than significant for a young centre-back who was brought in to complement Sampaoli's back-line, won the trust of the current Argentina boss, and has now made himself an indisputable asset to Eduardo Berizzo's Sevilla side.
