The Portuguese defender returned from injury and kept a clean sheet

Daniel Carriço returned to the starting XI for the 2-0 win against Qarabag, a match that was not the easiest early on: "It was a tough match in terms of motivation, we're already through so sometimes it's tough to keep concentrated but we stayed serious. It was hard to create chances in the first half because they dropped very deep, but we broke them down and found more space in the second half. We played quickly and we were able to get two goals".

Qarabag wanted a point, but Sevilla got their prize in the end: "We wanted to be on top and push our opponents back, it wasn't easy but in the second half we found space, we did the job, so we're proud of the win".

The team still has a 100% win record, confirming their defensive strength: "We knew we were favourites to win the group but you still have to go out on play. We've kept four clean sheets out of five. They don't create much against us and we're ambitious, so the aim is always three points".
