"It's a difficult situation because we don't have many matches left. What's clear is that I was wanting to come back and when they needed me, I was going to be here... I'm grateful to the Club because being a Sevillista is huge", said the coach during his presentation. He said: "We have to go step by step, match by match"

Joaquín Caparrós has returned home. The new Sevilla FC coach comes back to Nervión to close a circle but with the clear objective of getting into Europe in the four matches that remain. "It's a great satisfaction to be here in my home. I'm very happy because Sevilla has remembered me. It's true that it's a difficult situation because we have few matches left but what's clear is that I was wanting to come back and that I'd be here when they needed me... I'm grateful to the Club because being a Sevillista is something great, just like having this opportunity...", he said to open his official presentation.

Caparrós seemed optimistic about the team's chances thanks to the talent the squad has: "There's a lot of quality in the squad, a lot of international footballers. What happens is that football enters a certain dynamic... But I think we have a fantastic squad, with varied players. We're going to fight... We're going to give everything to try and achieve the objectives the Club set at the start of the season".

"There's a fantastic squad with varied players, so we're going to fight... We'll give everything to achieve our aims"

On another matter, he said: "I'm eager to get training, I'm eager to see the players... There are four matches left but we're going to give our blood, sweat and tears. Not just us but the footballers too, because when you have talent and quality you can do a lot more".

He was also clear that he's not relying on any miracles: "there's no salvation because the salvation comes in the footballers themselves, with the talent they have. This team has a lot of talent... That's the salvation. Football is a game for the players. They are the ones who decide things with their quality and skill. We're going to try and find a good attitude for the players".

Asked about the derby, Caparrós recalled his now legendary philosophy of taking things step by step - something he repeated more than once in his five seasons as Sevilla coach: "We have to go step by step, match by matchReal Sociedad come first, then Real MadridWe have to be ready for the most immediate challenges. What I want to do is serve the club, I want to be there building... all five of our senses are there focused on Real Sociedad... We're so enthusiastic".

He also admitted that the changes to the Training Village since his time as a coach had surprised him: "I hadn't stepped foot on the training ground until I went yesterday and I saw part of a sports village of a Club that has grown thanks to all the titles its won. Sevilla used to be a great club for our level of football but now it's a great club on a global level, with a hugely important structure. I can say that having experienced a lot of football outside Seville. The sensation is massive, I'm where I want to be but being a Sevillista is not something you can say, it's something you have to show in different situations".

Finally, asked about the participation of Steven Nzonzi, he said: "The Club has opened a disciplinary case against him and I haven't read it yet. I have to see what he's like as a footballer, to see his face, to see the light in his eyes and then I'll see. Without seeing him I can't say anything".
