Wissam Ben Yedder has been called up by Didier Dechamps to the French national squad for friendlies against Colombia on the 23rd of March (played in the Stade du France) and Russia on the 27th of March (away from home).

Ben Yedder follows in the steps of Nzonzi - who was left out of this squad - by achieving an official call-up through outstanding Sevilla FC performancesBen Yedder has played 76 times in his time at the club, scoring a total of 37 goals. His stats from this year have been possibly the most impressive. He has already scored 19 goals - 10 coming in Europe - in 34 matches, making him the club's top scorer.

The double he scored this Tuesday at Old Trafford that knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League and handed Sevilla FC their first Champions League quarter-final in 60 years may have been the determining factor in making up Dechamps' mind.
