The Argentina international seemed hopeful about Caparrós' arrival: "A bit of happiness is welcome for the changing room so we can keep working in the next few days with the utmost confidence", he said. He trusted in the team's ability to reach the European objective: "The sooner the matches come the better. We're eager to get revenge, to play and to change the situation"

Ever Banega's words always have weight at Sevilla FC. The Argetina interntational is a key player in Nervión, as well as a clear leader in the side both on and off the field. He spoke to Club media sources this afternoon, evaluating the side's current situation and the arival of Joaquín Caparrós: "It's a difficult season, with a lot of changes. We wouldn't have wanted so many changes but situations make you undergo them. We hope now with Joaquín we can change the mentality and win again, which is the most important thing".

In that sense he admitted that: "we didn't think we would get to this situation but in football anything can happen and if you're not careful these things can happen. We need to be calm, to keep working and trust ourselves, which God willing, will lead us to qualify for Europe. We have to focus, to be a group, to be more united than ever and to move forwards... One result can change everything and we're going to look for it and focus on what we have to do".

"The team needs to be ready to achieve that objective, it's a change of mentality for everyone. I think a bit of happiness would do well for the changing room to keep working every day with the utmost confidence".

For that reason: "the sooner the matches come the better. We're eager for revenge, to play and to change the situation. We have to know that we have four important games left and we can achieve our aim if we have the mentality that we can".

The Argentinian also commented "the squad has a huge responsibility, each one of us must do what we can and we're going to strive for qualification for the Europa League".

For Banega, the fact that Sevilla FC will play 3 of the 4 remaining games at home plays in favour of the team: "We're playing at home, we've gone a long time without winning. It's normal that the fans aren't best pleased with us, but we're going to give it everything on the pitch as we always do, we'll give it 100%...Playing at home is always an advantage. We are going to try and come together with the fans so that we can play some great matches".

On a personal note, the Argentinian said he felt "good, with hopes, like everyone else, to change things around. Always facing up to what's ahead, through the good and the bad, knowing that we are Sevilla, and that, of course, things are tough, we've known this for a long time and we need to try and make things better".

Finally, Banega had a message for the fans: "We need you to be with us, we will give 100% on the pitch...The result is what people look at after the match, but when the final whistle is blown and we go back to the changing rooms, whatever the outcome, the player has to be satisfied with what they've done out on the pitch".
