Julen Lopetegui continues making history while in charge of Sevilla FC. After what happened on Friday night at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán the coach reached 100 league games in charge, a figure from which many positives can be extracted. It is worth noting that currently he is the coach with the seventh-most games managed for Sevilla FC in La Liga currently, as he enjoys his third season as coach of the team. After recently overtaking Manolo Jiménez, he is just two matchdays away from equally fifth place and Luis Cid Carriega. So far, he has gained 197 points which leads to an average of practically a win and a draw every two games.

But the history that Lopetegui has made as a Sevillista is not only limited to winning three points but also this century of games brings with it a lot of work, reliability and above all a lot of points. He is the best Sevilla coach in history in the league due to the fact that he is the one with the fewest defeats - just 17%. His is followed by Sampaoli, Juande Ramos and Luis Aragonés. Also, he is second on win percentage with 57% of wins. In this he is only overtaken and in a slightly unusual way by José María Busto who won two out of his three games in charges in 1962 - a 66.6% win percentage. Sampaoli, Álvarez and Berizzo appear just below about the Basque.

With all of this, the defensive work of Lopetegui is worth remembering too, reaching 47 clean sheets in the first division. Increasing this to his 142 official games in Nervión, this figure reaches 67 games. It is worth highlighting that overall he has only lost 18.3% of games - very similar to 17% in La Liga and only conceded 0.84 in all competitions, which reduces to 0.83 in league games. Julen Lopetegui is already therefore coach of note in Sevilla's La Liga history, a league championship in which there remains a lot to be written.
