Sevilla Atlético head coach Jesús Galván spoke to the press after his side secured an all-important win at Vélez CF: "It's much closer now, there are two matches left. This afternoon we might be confirmed as champions, we have to wait and see and, if not, try to finish it off at home against UCAM. We had to win, it looked like a banana skin, a dangerous game because of the opponent's situation, the pitch and everything that was at stake. There was a lot of tension, a lot of anxiety and we rushed things slightly. It can happen when you feel how close you are to success. We were playing against a team with little to play for and in a tough situation. If you let this get to you it will cost you. We didn't close out the game, the scoreline was never comfortable. That's what made it so difficult towards the end."

Galván proceeded to praise the great work of the entire squad this season: "We will look back and celebrate what this team has done, with the squad we have and everything that has happened to us. It is a great effort from the players to be where they are, to be between first and second place for almost the entire season is remarkable. We will evaluate it all when the time is right." He also expressed his gratitude for the unity that exists in the dressing room: "We're running out of superlatives to describe this team, we can't tell them enough how proud we are of them. Their commitment and solidarity is special. Today we have players who haven't always played, but they too have been first class. It says a lot about the family we are. Hopefully this afternoon it'll be confirmed, it would mean one less day of waiting. If not, at home, in front of our people, where we have had a great season, we will try to end it in the best possible way."

To conclude, the coach wanted to send a final message to the fans ahead of next weekend's match at the Estadio Jesús Navas: "We have so much to thank the fans for, they have been at the heart of it all. I hope it happens this afternoon or next Sunday. We have to thank them for their support, they have grown as the team has. I hope that next week, even if promotion is achieved today, they will come to give us one last push."
