Club Chairman José Castro spoke to the media following victory against Spartak and thanked the fans and the team for their monumental effort: "Happy because it's the third consecutive win, the same as the three losses. The squad is rallied around achieving aims and today the win was crucial, because it means we're relying on ourselves in the group. It's a win which, for sure, could have been even bigger. We suffered at the end but we're all happy, alongside the fans, who on special occasions like this, have even greater importance".

The team had to push through after a great start to the match "There were 70 minutes of good play and then the only thing we lacked was assertiveness, which is what we need to win with more comfort. The stands didn't stop singing from minute 1 to 90. It's a demanding fanbase but a quality one because it comes alive on when it sees the team giving out, and uses its voice to give it what's missing".

The Chairman also praised Ever Banega's fine goal: "It was an extraordinary goal. Banega came back wanting to win and is doing so because he's a very valuable asset. I hope he maintains this level". Finally, he talked about the Club's next European game, in which it could seal a passage to the knock-outs: "I hope we can guarantee it against Liverpool. We'll have to fill the stadium and create a celebration of football to get those three points we need. Sevilla has been enjoying the Champions League for many years and nobody wants to lose that".
