Sevilla FC got their first league clean sheet at the weekend. With Saturday's narrow win in Mallorca, the team have regained a characteristic that not so long ago was the norm, demonstrating that the improvements in defence are having an effect, having conceded 23 goals since the start of the current season in both LaLiga and the Champions League.

The last clean sheet with a win away from home in the league was achieved in January this year in Cádiz, with Yasine Bono in goal. A few days later it was Dmitrović who kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Zaragoza in the Copa del Rey. In terms of away games, there have also been two goalless draws against Osasuna and Deportivo Alavés.

But if there is one thing that stands out, beyond the Sevilla goalkeeper, it is the defensive solidity that has seen the team concede just two goals in the last three games. After the tough results against teams like FC Barcelona (0-3), Manchester City (0-4), Atlético de Madrid (0-2) or Borussia Dortmund (1-4), all of them at home, yesterday's experience at the Visit Mallorca Stadium should serve as encouragement to continue strongly in the way we have been doing recently with the partnership between Marcão and Nianzou.

There will be another opportunity to continue this good defensive form at home on Tuesday against Valencia CF, who come from a 2-2 draw against Elche CF at the Mestalla and who will face a side coached by Jorge Sampaoli who, with yesterday's win, has 19 clean sheets in total as Sevilla coach.
