KIKE SALAS: "I'VE NEVER FELT MORE PROUD WEARING THIS SHIRT"

On a very happy day for the Sevilla academy, the star of El Gran Derbi was Kike Salas: ‘I went out and the first time I touched the ball, it ended up in the back of the net. It was perfect and I couldn't feel prouder to defend this badge, and be here with our people, the few who have been able to attend the match. It gives me huge satisfaction. I'll always be there for whatever the manager needs. I was especially motivated because it's a very special match for me and for every youth-team product. I was focused, I had to go out and I'm so glad I could make an impact." He also paid tribute to his former Sevilla Atlético teammates, who sealed promotion to Primera RFEF on Sunday afternoon: ‘I'm so happy for them, they've done a great job all season and they deserve to emerge from their league as champions."

Loïc Badé also reflected on the draw with Betis: ‘We played well. We can't do anything about that penalty, but we're lucky to have Kike in the team. We wanted much more, we wanted to win, but the draw is not bad. For my part in the overturned penalty decision, I was confused as to why it was initially given since I had the ball and had little need to give away a foul, but thankfully it was overruled and nothing happened. We now have to finish the season strongly. We've now played four games without losing, and we're confident we can still rack up more points before the end of the season."

Finally, another homegrown player, Juanlu had his say: ‘I'm very happy for Kike. He struck the ball perfectly with his head. I always say that I'm here to help, whether it's for the whole game or just 10 minutes like today. I'm always going to try to give my all. On the bench, we were very nervous, but once you enter the pitch you're calmer. I'm very happy for Sevilla Atlético too. When we suffered relegation it was hard for everyone, but we have one of the best youth teams in the world and now it feels like we are making the most of it."

También pasó Badé por los micrófonos de los medios oficiales: "Hemos hecho un buen partido. Con ese penalti no podemos hacer nada, pero tenemos la suerte de tener a Kike en el equipo. Queríamos mucho más, queríamos ganar, pero el empate no está mal. En mi penalti no he entendido nada porque yo tengo la pelota y no sé cómo puedo hacer falta, pero luego lo ha cambiado y no pasa nada. Ahora vamos a intentar acabar la temporada bien, llevamos cuatro partidos sin perder, sabemos que podemos sacar muchos puntos y vamos a intentarlo".

Para terminar, otro canterano, Juanlu: "Me alegro mucho por Kike, que tiene oro en la cabeza y lo remata todo. Siempre digo que estoy para ayudar, sea el partido entero o diez como hoy. Siempre voy a intentar dejarlo todo. En el banquillo estábamos muy nerviosos, pero una vez que entras al campo ya estás más tranquilo. Me alegro mucho por el Sevilla Atlético. Tuvimos un descenso que fue duro para todos, pero tenemos una de las mejores canteras del mundo y tenemos que aprovecharla".
