Despite their recent dip in form, Sevilla still average more than two points per game. In two of the last five seasons, they have won 20 points from the last ten matches.

Sevilla FC are on a run of three games without a win, with draws against Alavés and Leganés and defeat at the Vicente Calderón at the hands of Atlético Madrid.

But, despite the slump in form, Jorge Sampaoli's side still have an average of 2.035 points per game having taken 57 points from 28 matches this campaign; a positive sign despite the disappointing run in March

If Sevilla were to maintain la media inglesa - two points per game - then they would be on 77 points come the end of the season to undoubtedly secure a place in the Champions League.

However, history shows that Sevilla have recorded 20 points or more in the last ten games of only two of the last five seasons. In 14/15, 21 points were won; in 13/14, 20 points; in 11/12, 17 points; in 12/13, 12 points and last season only 7 points were amassed.

Sevilla play six of the remaining ten league fixtures at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán

It is worth noting, though, that every time that Sevilla have been in the top six this Century they have won a minimum of 16 points, which, added to the 57 points already on the board, would leave Los Nervionenses on 73 points at the end of the season. This tally would secure European qualification and more than likely qualification for the Champions League.

In 08/09, 16 points were taken; in 03/04, 04/05 and 06/07, 17 points; in 09/10, 18 points; in 07/08 and 10/11, 19 points; in 13/04, 21 points; in 14/15, 21 points and in 05/06, 23 points were amassed.

The remaining ten games undoubtedly constitute ten finals for Sevilla FC, six of which will be played at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán as Sampaoli's side fight for Champions League football next season. Sporting Gijón, Deportivo, Granada, Celta, Real Sociedad and Osasuna will travel to Nervión, while Sevilla face trips to the Camp Nou, Mestall, Málaga and the Bernabéu in the penultimate fixture of the season.
